What Personal Data We Collect, And Why
If you leave a comment on our blog you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.
If you have an account and you log in to this site (including for purchases when our shop is enabled), we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.
When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.
If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after 1 day.
When visitors leave comments on our blog we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.
An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.
In the case of embedded content from other sites (e.g. videos/YouTube), the content’s behavior is the same as if you visited the hosting/originating site.
Whether through embedded content, or following an external link, originating sites may use data collection, cookies, and/or tracking. This is especially true if you have an account and are logged into that site/service.
If you initiate contact with us via a contact form, the information you fill in is forwarded directly to our company email account. We use this information only for the purpose of following-up/responding.
You can opt-in to our mailing list, but this is a separate sign-up form (see who/where we share your information for more on this). We do use a double opt-in setting to ensure you want to receive deals, news, and articles from us. You can unsubscribe via a link at the bottom of the email at anytime.
As mentioned above we don’t currently have comments, login/profiles enabled.
Once we enable comments and login/profiles, keep the following in mind:
- When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.
- An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here.
- After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.
- If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.
Who/Where We Share Your Information
We are using Facebook Pixel on our site to better understand our clients and their needs. Facebook Pixel is an analytic service that tracks Facebook Ad conversions (site visits/clicks) to help us better reach those interested in the benefits of floating.
Facebook Data Policy
Facebook Cookies Policy
Facebook Privacy Basics
We will be setting up Google Analytics to better understand, and assist our clientele.
We promise to let you know when this is activated, and what it means for you. If you want to read up on their policies you can find them here.
What Rights, And Control
You Have Over Your Data
Our shop does keep track of orders and details you share as part of your account. You can request that they be cleared (will change it to a guest entry). We currently have inactive accounts set to save for three years for your convenience, so if you return you don’t have to create a new account and will have access to your history. We also retain pending or failed orders for four days to assist in your experience incase you choose to return to your purchase (we don’t want you to have to start over).
Once enable, comments and their metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we will be able to recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
Additional
